Teddy Campbell
“For ten seasons, Teddy Campbell was seen by millions as the drummer on FOX’s hit show, American Idol. He made history serving as the drummer and co-lead singer on the final three seasons of NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”
Honing his talent at an early age on the gospel scene, the Chicago native relocated to California in 1998. It was there that an impressive resume began to evolve as he served as musical director and drummer for Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.
Recording with Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Barbra Streisand, Rod Stewart, Kelly Clarkson, Mary Mary, and many more, Teddy toured with national acts including The Backstreet Boys, Bette Midler, Boz Scaggs, Maze, Frankie Beverly, Queen Latifah, George Benson, and many others.
He left his drum imprint on movie scores for Dreamgirls, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Pitch Perfect 3, American Sniper, SING, The Color Purple 2023, Get On Up, Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey and more.
Campbell's television credits include “The Academy Awards” "The Grammy Awards," "The Kennedy Center Honors” The NAACP Image Awards," ”BET Awards” “BET Celebration Of Gospel” "The Billboard Awards," "VH-1 Divas" and "VH-1 Save the Music" Teddy also co-stared in 5 seasons of WeTV's hit reality show Mary Mary.
Most recently, Campbell and his wife Tina Campbell - half of the iconic Grammy Award winning Gospel music duo Mary Mary - released music together where they proclaim love and family. Teddy is also the lead singer of the Stellar Award winning Gospel grou, Soul Seekers. As a husband, father, musician and singer Teddy wears many hats, but he attributes it all to Gods grace.”
