REGISTRATION, PAYMENT, TERMS & CONDITIONS,
CODE OF CONDUCT & EVENT CANCELLATION
FOR SOMAR DRUMMERS, INC. EVENTS
Your registration for any SoMar Drummers, Incorporated event constitutes your acknowledgment, consent and agreement with Registration, Payment, Terms & Conditions and Camp or Event Cancellations outlined below:
Event Registration and Payments:

All rates are per person.

Information herein is applicable to each event sponsored or hosted by SoMar Drummers, Inc., henceforth referred to as SoMarInc.

The Mid Atlantic Drum Camp (MADC), if approved to attend, a $300.00 deposit is due by May 15, 2025 to reserve your space.

Tuition balance payments for the MADC are due June 15, 2025. Postmarks are accepted if received after that date.

Payments not received by the MADC deadline indicated, SoMarInc Inc reserves the right to release your place in the camp to another student.

No refunds will be issued after camp check in.

Parents are not encouraged to visit their student during the day or evening hours. Exceptions can be made on a case by case basis together, or in accordance, with college, nurse, camp director and the SMD attorney. Exceptions include an immediate or severe medical emergency or the well being of the student.

Due to high fees associated with online credit card transactions, we will not be able to accept online or cash-app payments. We accept personal check (must be received by the due date(s), money order or bank check,

There is no refund for cancellations received after July 1, 2024 and no credit will be issued.

Registrations submitted for SoMar Inc events are considered a "Request to attend" and your approval will be sent by separate email.

We comply with host site rules and regulations for student safety and security. By registering for a SoMar Drummers, Inc event you agree that your student will be monitored within the guidelines and security measures set forth by the host site, and your student(s) agrees to attend "at their own risk" without cause, further action or hold harmful SoMar Drummers, Inc. - or host site - for actions beyond the safety and security measures established by the host site(s). If you want to know more about any of our host site's security please, contact the host site directly.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
Once your submit your request to attend any SoMar Drummers Inc. camp or event, the following applies:

Due to the nature of our events and current world conditions, (virus, lockdown, pandemic, etc) SoMar Inc strongly suggests purchasing travel insurance for air travel to a camp or event.

Artists / Educators or curriculum is subject to change. SoMar Inc reserves the right to offer qualified substitute artist or educators in the event of the inability of an artists to attend any or part of the event. Change of Artists / Educators may involve circumstances such as an emergency, illness, events, etc. If any such changes are made, SoMar Inc will make reasonable efforts to notify registrants by email and a website update with up-to-date information. Attendees are still responsible for the full amount of their registration fee.

SoMar Inc reserves the right to disapprove a student's event registration such as: Showcases, Mini-Camp, Clinics, MasterClasses, Lessons, Performances, the MADC, etc. Event registrations will be evaluated to determine if the student is approved to attend. Students may not be approved for attendance at an event based on, but not limited to, the following criteria: perceived or lack of effort, stress to the Artist, Educator or Board members during the application process, demonstrating little or no interest /lack of interest during teaching or instruction at a previous SoMar Inc event, soliciting or trying to solicit "special assignments" or access to portions of an event, etc.

MADC lack of interest includes spending portions of the learning period on a phone (internet), tablet, game, kindle, computer, etc., as well as conflict with an artist, staff member or a student, lack of improvement from a previous or similar event, and/or in the case the event/camp has reached capacity, is overbooked or to allow new students an opportunity to attend. All such conditions are applied to our event registration approval process. By submitting your registration for a SoMar Inc event, you acknowledge, accept and agree with the final decision made by SoMarInc Staff, Artists and/or Educators without further action. Notification of approval / disapproval will be sent to the registration email(s) within 7-days of the receipt of the student's registration.

All students, artists and staff must also comply with our Code of Conduct: We do not permit disruptive, dangerous, illegal, intolerant or discriminatory behavior. Showcase songs must not contain verbiage determined by SoMarInc to be inappropriate for the general public. Due to mechanical or human error or conditions out of our control, Showcase Performance videos are not guaranteed.

Students will demonstrate respect to Artists, Educators, Chaperones, Nurse, Event Staff, Media & SoMar Inc Guests. Students will participate in all sessions, clinics, master classes or educational event and will not be active on a phone, tablet or other devices, during instruction.

EFFECTIVE 2024 requests for after dorm hour extension times and in room times for ages 13 & under are not permitted. Exceptions for students accompanied by a Parent Chaperons will be considered on a case by case basis.

Students arriving late to sessions, clinics, master classes, meals, room times or any camp event may be dismissed from the camp with no refund.

Recording video or audio is at the discretion of the Artist / Educator. Students can ask for permission to record video at the beginning of sessions, clinics, master classes, etc.

Students, parents, artists and staff will respect the property, gear and equipment of event facilities, and any gear and or audio/visual equipment provided for the event.

SoMarInc reserves the right to dismiss an Artist / Educator, staff member, student or parent from any event, at any time, if their behavior is not compliant with this code of conduct, or if their conduct proves distracting to others.
Event Cancellation:
SoMar Drummers, Inc reserves the right to cancel an event, or part of an event - at any time - at our discretion. In the unlikely event the Mid Atlantic Drum Camp is canceled, all fees collected by SoMar Drummers, Inc will be reimbursed by check. SoMarInc is not responsible for reimbursing travel fees, fees for accommodations not provided by SoMarInc, or other expenses. If you are flying in from out of state, we recommend you purchase travel insurance.

Mid Atlantic Drum Camp (MADC): All special guests and camp curriculum are subject to change. Full payment cancellations for the MADC must be requested at least 15-days (June 30, 2025) prior to the start of the camp to receive a refund (The $300 non-refundable deposit will be subtracted from the camp refund) Transfer of a deposit or full tuition from one registered student to a non-registered student must be coordinated with SoMarDrummers, Inc., no later than 15-days before the start of the MADC (June 30, 2025) No camp refunds or future credit will be issued once the camp starts, Sunday July 13, 2025, 12:00 am EDT) If a student leaves the camp early, there is no refund and no future credit.
Notice of Filming and Photography:

When you enter a SoMar Drummers Inc (SoMar) event or program, you enter an area where photography, audio, and video recording may occur. By entering the event premises, you consent to interview(s), photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for news, web casts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on websites, social media, or any other purpose by SoMar and its affiliates and representatives. Images, photos and/or videos may be used to promote similar SoMar events in the future, highlight the event and exhibit the capabilities of SoMar. You release SoMar, its officers and employees, and each and all persons involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording, digitizing, or publication and use of interviews, photographs, computer images, video and/or or sound recordings. By entering the event premises, you waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any use, exhibition, streaming, web casting, televising, or other publication of these materials, regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such use, exhibiting, broadcasting, web casting, or other publication irrespective of whether a fee for admission or sponsorship is charged. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video, or audio recording taken by SoMar or the person or entity designated to do so by SoMar. You have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability, and release before entering the event.
